Tarkett homogeneous vinyl flooring
Homogeneous vinyl is a single layer of PVC, with the colour and pattern running through the entire thickness. Any surface wear can be restored by polishing, without the pattern ‘fading’. This is why it is the standard flooring for hospitals, operating theatres, laboratories and corridors with very heavy footfall. It is installed as a bonded floor with heat-sealed joints and can be raised up the wall using a riser profile. The result is a continuous, watertight surface that can be disinfected without any areas where dirt can accumulate. It is the same principle as a clean room suspended ceiling: hygiene means continuity.
