Joint sealing and waterstops

The joint is the only part of a waterproofing system that is designed to move. All other materials are required to remain stationary; here the material must accommodate the structure’s contraction and expansion, through thousands of cycles, without delaminating or tearing. This is why waterproofing failures almost always originate at a joint. The choice of material is determined by one question: when do we intervene at the joint? Before concreting, the integrated waterstops are installed — PVC-P tapes in accordance with DIN 18541, with a proven resistance of over 20 metres of water column, and water-swelling bentonite cords that seal by swelling, without the need for heat-sealing. After concreting, chemical sealants are applied: single-component polyurethane sealants with a movement compensation capacity of ±25 per cent, and bituminous sealants for joints in bituminous substrates. Waterproofing tapes are incorporated into the final finishes, bridging corners, wall-to-floor junctions and expansion joints beneath ceramic tiles. Alongside these, we supply the materials that ensure they function effectively: expanded polyethylene filling cords in nine different cross-sections, which control the depth of the seal, and polyurethane primers for the joint edges — without these, even the best sealant will delaminate by the first winter. Trade supply with technical support: selection of the appropriate type based on the joint type and range of movement, calculation of consumption based on the cross-section, and delivery to construction sites throughout Greece.
