KNAUF Self-adhesive Mesh Glass Tape for Joints
Joint treatment materialsDescription
Self-adhesive fibreglass mesh tape for reinforcing plasterboard joints. It is quick and easy to apply — directly onto the joint, without a prior layer of filler — and the jointing compound can be applied over it.
Knauf self-adhesive fibreglass mesh tape is used to reinforce plasterboard joints and prevent cracking in interior applications. The self-adhesive fibreglass mesh is applied directly to the joint and then covered with the joint filler, significantly speeding up the work compared to paper tape.
Mesh or paper tape?
- Mesh fibreglass tape (this one) → self-adhesive, quick; ideal for repairs, rapid applications and joints that will be filled with chemically-setting filler.
- Paper tape → superior resistance to cracking and at corners, but requires an initial layer of filler underneath (slower).
Professional tip: For maximum strength, glass fibre mesh tape is best used in combination with a chemical-setting plaster (e.g. Knauf Uniflott) — not just ready-mixed plasters.
