Extruded polystyrene (XPS)

Extruded polystyrene (XPS) is a lightweight, thermally insulating material in board form, produced by the extrusion process (where polystyrene is mixed with blowing agents under controlled temperature and pressure conditions). It is characterised by the closed, foam-like structure of its cells, which gives it excellent insulating properties and very low water absorption, making it ideal for use in damp areas such as basements, open ground-floor areas (pilotis) and flat roofs
