Pitched roof waterproofing and insulation

A pitched tiled roof is not made watertight by the tiles — it is made watertight by the membrane beneath them. Breathable membranes for controlling vapour, fire-retardant and heat-reflective variants, vapour barriers, bituminous membranes and thermal insulation materials — mineral wool, stone wool, XPS and polyester — which make up the system from the roof deck right up to the roof tiles.
