APP plastomeric bituminous membranes

Description

ESHADURO is a polymer-modified bituminous membrane based on atactic polypropylene (APP), designed to provide reliable waterproofing and long-term protection in hot climatic conditions. With a softening point of ≥145°C and resistance to temperatures up to 115°C, it meets the demands of the Greek sun whilst retaining flexibility at -5°C. It stands out in the APP range for two reasons: it is available in five types of reinforcement — including the polyester-mesh combination with isotropic mechanical behaviour (640/600 N/50 mm) — and offers four top-coat options, including the brown-red granules for waterproofing pitched tiled roofs and quartz sand. It is the most economical entry-level product in ESHA’s APP range.

The ARGYNET View: The most affordable of the three APP products, with the unique advantage of brown-red granules beneath roof tiles. Important design note: unlike ESHAGUM and ESHAPROOF, it is not certified to EN 14695 for bridge decks — for such projects, a higher grade should be selected.

Overview

Key Features

Resistance to weather and thermal conditions

- Resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation

- Resistance to ageing over time

- High resistance to high temperatures up to 115°C (EN 1110)

- Softening point ≥145°C (EN 1427)

- Flexibility at low temperatures down to -5°C (EN 1109)

- Good performance in corrosive environments: acids, inorganic salts, gases, pollution, ozone

Mechanical properties

- Tensile strength from 300/200 to 850/650 N/50 mm depending on the reinforcement (EN 12311-1)

- Isotropic behaviour 640/600 N/50 mm with polyester mesh reinforcement

- Elongation at break up to 45/55% (Spun Bond SP)

- Tear strength up to 350/350 N (ASTM D4073-94)

- Static puncture resistance up to class L3 (15–25 kg) (EN 12730)

- Dynamic puncture resistance: Class I3 (EN 12691)

- Dimensional stability from -0.1/+0.1% to -0.4/+0.3% (EN 1107-1)

Reinforcements — 5 options

- High-quality glass fibre fabric — dimensional stability, most economical solution

- Non-woven polyester — balance of strength and cost

- Polyester fabric with embedded glass fibres — maximum stability during heat-sealing, prevents ‘banana’ effect

- Polyester-mesh combination — isotropic behaviour in terms of mechanical properties

- Spunbond polyester (SP) — increased resistance to tearing, puncture, shear and tensile stress

Coatings — 4 options

- Green, white or brown-red mineral granules — protection from solar radiation and aesthetic harmony with roof tiles

- Thin polyethylene film — when the membrane is covered by tiles or concrete

- Quartz sand — top or bottom coating depending on the installation method

- Woven polypropylene fabric — painted with ESHACRYCOAT or ESHALUMIN
