A ready-to-use, solvent-free synthetic resin primer that regulates the absorbency of the surface prior to painting, wallpapering or tiling. Ideal for plasterboard and other absorbent surfaces, both indoors and outdoors.
Knauf Tiefengrund Plus impregnates and stabilises absorbent substrates (plasterboard, render, gypsum surfaces), balancing out absorption so that the next material — paint, tile adhesive or wallpaper — can be applied evenly and adhere properly. It is ready to use, solvent-free (low odour, suitable for indoor use) and can be applied with a roller, brush or machine.
Why a primer is needed:
Plasterboard is highly absorbent. Without a primer, the paint is absorbed unevenly (variations in gloss/flashing) and requires more coats. Tiefengrund Plus regulates absorption and improves adhesion and coverage.
Tiefengrund Plus → absorbent surfaces (plasterboard, render).
Betokontakt → smooth/non-absorbent surfaces (concrete) — creates a ‘bond’.
