Geomembranes

Description

Permeability 3×10⁻¹¹ to 7×10⁻¹³ m/s and self-healing of punctures — a composite barrier comprising a layer of bentonite sandwiched between two geotextiles, needle-punched together.

Upon hydration, the bentonite swells and forms a system with extremely low permeability, ideal for geological barriers and waterproofing systems. The ARGYNET View replaces compacted clay in roll form.

Its unique feature is self-healing: if the material is punctured, the sodium bentonite swells around the hole and seals it automatically.

No welding, no specialised equipment, no seam testing — which is why it works in remote locations where transporting a heat-welding contractor crew would be prohibitively expensive.

The crucial factor that is often overlooked: self-healing does not work without encasement. Bentonite requires sufficient overburden to generate swelling pressure; without this, it swells upwards rather than sealing.
