ESHAPROTECT | HDPE protective membrane

ESHAPROTECT | HDPE protective membrane

Geomembranes

Description

1.0 mm HDPE slip and protection sheet, installed over the waterproofing membrane to protect it from static and dynamic loads — static puncture resistance of 3.0 kN and elongation at break of 800 per cent. Manufactured from high-density polyethylene in black, with 2–3 per cent fine-grained carbon black for maximum service life.

The combination of antioxidants protects the material from heat during production, welding and use. Tensile strength reaches 32 MPa, puncture resistance according to ASTM is 420 N, and tear resistance is 145 N.

The ARGYNET View

The waterproofing membrane rarely fails on its own. It fails because of what comes afterwards: the reinforcement that will rest on top of it, the machinery that will pass over it, the overlying loads that will press down on it. ESHAPROTECT is the sheet that absorbs this stress instead of the waterproofing membrane.

And it has a second role that is often overlooked: when the seams are heat-sealed, it acts as a root-resistant membrane. On a green roof, this means that a single material fulfils two requirements — provided the bonding is carried out correctly. Without heat-sealing, it is not root-resistant.
