MacMat | Corrosion Control Geomat
GeogridsDescription
Porosity in excess of 90 per cent and permanent protection — a three-dimensional mesh of synthetic monofilaments, heat-sealed at the intersections and stabilised against ultraviolet radiation.
The voids in the matrix trap and retain soil on the slope rather than allowing it to be washed away, creating an environment in which vegetation can take root. It works in both dry and wet environments, resisting erosion caused by rainfall, runoff, hydraulic action or wind.
The ARGYNET View
The mat does not replace vegetation — it creates it. It gives the slope the time it needs for roots to develop, and then becomes permanently integrated into them, strengthening the root system as it evolves.
This is why synthetic turf is superior to biodegradable turf: it does not disappear whilst the root system is still vulnerable. Biodegradable mulch lasts 1–3 years; on a burnt slope with poor soil, this is often not enough.
Overview
Key Features
Structure
- Three-dimensional matrix of synthetic monofilaments
- Heat-sealing at the junctions
- Porosity typically in excess of 90 per cent voids
- High deformability — full contact with the surface
Durability
- Stabilised against ultraviolet radiation
- Non-degradable — a permanent solution
- Suitable for both dry and wet environments
Performance
- Immediate protection from the very first day of installation
- Strengthens the root system as it develops
- Suitable for hydroseeding and shrub planting
