SMARTROOF THERMAL | Stone wool for roof thermal insulation

Knauf Insulation’s SMARTroof Thermal is a rigid, compact stone wool board, specially designed for the thermal insulation of horizontal roofs and flat roofs. Non-combustible, water-repellent, resistant to high temperatures and chemically inert, with high compressive strength.

On a flat roof, the insulation is installed beneath the waterproofing and must withstand loads — foot traffic, equipment and maintenance. SMARTroof Thermal combines a low λ value (0.036) with a compressive strength of 50 kPa and a point load capacity of 500 N, providing a stable substrate for all types of waterproofing membranes (bituminous, PVC, TPO, liquid-applied). It is equally easy to install on a concrete slab or on trapezoidal metal roofing sheets, for both accessible and non-accessible flat roofs.
