Drainage

Description

MAXISTUD F is a 20 mm thick high-density polyethylene geomembrane, featuring conical profiles and perforations that enhance drainage performance. Its standout feature is its compressive strength: >150 kN/m², i.e. over 15 tonnes per square metre.

This is not just a catalogue figure — it is a functional requirement. A 20 mm membrane that is compressed to 12 mm beneath a planting substrate has lost 40 per cent of its flow cross-section. A value of >150 kN/m² ensures that the membrane retains its height under backfill, planting substrate or site traffic.

Tensile strength >500 N/5 cm in both directions with elongation >20% (MD) / >25% (CMD) in accordance with EN ISO 10319 — withstands settlement without tearing. Weight 1,000 g/m² ±5% (EN 965), with integrated UV stabiliser. Roll 2 × 20 m = 40 m², roll weight 50 kg.

The ARGYNET View

The >150 kN/m² figure speaks for itself. In the 20 mm category, the height is a given; what differs is whether that height remains intact. Compare: DANODREN H15 PLUS delivers 180 kN/m² at 7.5 mm; QDRAIN measures its flow rate at 20/50/100 kPa. MAXISTUD F combines the largest cross-section in its class with the strength to maintain it.

And the reverse, which costs projects dearly: MAXISTUD F does not incorporate a geotextile. Without a separate filter layer above the cones, the fine particles from the sub-base settle into the gaps and within two seasons the system becomes blocked. Either add geotextile, or choose MAXISTUD GEO. There is no third option — and the price difference is less than the cost of repair.
