Sound insulation

Description

ISOLFON are sound-absorbing panels made from a special grade of flexible polyurethane foam, available in three surface finishes: PU (flat), SEP (corrugated/‘egg-crate’), and SE.PY (pyramidal). They reduce reverberation time, multiple reflections and standing waves in enclosed spaces. They are also known on the Greek market as ‘Ricofon’ (Ricofon-type), and are quick and easy to install, requiring no special tools.

ARGYNET LAB: It is crucial not to confuse sound absorption with sound insulation — two entirely different functions. ISOLFON absorbs sound energy within a space, reducing reverberation and improving acoustic clarity (e.g. in a studio or hall) — it does not prevent sound from travelling to an adjoining room or flat. For true sound insulation (reduction of sound transmission), a heavy, multi-layered wall system is required (e.g. double plasterboard + fibrous insulation + elastic profiles). At ARGYNET, we always clarify exactly what purpose each material serves, so that the customer does not end up buying the wrong solution.

Overview

Key Features

- Three surface profiles: flat (PU), corrugated (SEP), pyramidal (SE.PY)

- Sound absorption coefficient αw up to 0.90 — Class A (for the thickest versions of each type)

- Flexible foam — adapts to and bonds with any surface

- Optimal closed-cell structure for maximum absorption of acoustic kinetic energy

- Quick to apply — no special tools or expertise required

- PU also provides thermal insulation

- Self-extinguishing in accordance with MVSS 302 (SE)
