PNW Protection | Geotextile for the Mechanical Protection of Geomembranes

Geotextiles

Description

The top-of-the-range product for geomembrane protection: CBR puncture resistance up to 14 kN and weights up to 2,000 g/m² — the highest in the range. Non-woven, needle-punched geotextile made from 100 per cent polypropylene fibres, stabilised against ultraviolet radiation.

The full range covers tensile strength from 5 to 105 kN/m, a static CBR puncture resistance of 1.5 to 14 kN and weights of 100 to 2,000 g/m² — ranging from a simple filter to heavy-duty protection for sealing membranes in landfill sites. It also features the finest pore size in the range, from 50 μm, with a water flow rate of up to 180 l/m²·s and a roll width of up to 6.0 m — fewer overlaps, faster installation.

The ARGYNET View

The geomembrane does not fail in its function. It fails during installation, caused by a sharp piece of aggregate that was stepped on at the wrong moment. And the hole is not visible at the time — it becomes apparent two years later, when the water has already seeped through.

PNW is the layer that prevents this from happening, and it is installed on both sides of the membrane. It costs a fraction of the repair cost. The weight is selected based on the aggregate gradation and the fill height — not empirically.
