SINMAST S2 Wet on Wet – Epoxy primer for damp substrates

Epoxy and polyurethane resin flooring systems

Description

SINMAST S2 Wet on Wet is a low-viscosity, two-component, solvent-free epoxy resin, designed to perform where standard epoxy primers fail: on fresh or damp concrete. It primes and seals industrial floors prior to epoxy paints and self-levelling compounds. It acts as a bonding bridge for mortars and resin-based mortars. It can also be injected into cracks of 1.0–2.5 mm in wet concrete. Its adhesion to fresh concrete is such that, when tested, it is the concrete itself that fails rather than the bond.

Moisture in the substrate is the most common cause of an epoxy floor blistering or delaminating. In Greece, we encounter this problem constantly: ground floors without a damp-proof course, basements, slabs that the contractor cannot wait to dry out, and applications carried out in winter. The ‘Wet on Wet’ method solves the problem without weeks of waiting. It can be applied from +8 °C, in cold or damp weather. When the substrate is dry (moisture content ≤ 4 per cent) and the area is enclosed, opt for the odourless SINMAST S2 WB. Where there is standing water or an active water ingress, waterproofing must first be carried out using injectable polyurethane resins.

Overview

Key Features

• Two-component epoxy primer for fresh or damp concrete substrates

• Solvent-free resin as supplied, non-shrinking, impermeable after curing

• Primer for epoxy paints, self-levelling compounds and resin-based mortars

• Bonding bridge for cementitious and epoxy mortars, ‘wet-on-wet’

• Injection of cracks 1.0–2.5 mm wide in fresh concrete, using a gun or grouting machine

• Application from +8 °C, in cold or wet weather, in winter and summer

• Shore D hardness 78, resistance to selected acids, alkalis and mineral oils

• Coverage ~0.200–0.350 kg/m² per coat

• Pack sizes: 1, 3 and 9 kg (A+B)
