SINTECNO TILE PRIMER | Transparent adhesion primer for tiles

Liquid-applied membranes

Description

SINTECNO TILE PRIMER is a single-component, transparent adhesion promoter that chemically activates the application surface. It is intended for ceramic and vitreous substrates — glazed tiles, glass blocks, and even glass — that is, precisely where conventional primers cannot find pores to anchor to.

It is a clear liquid with a specific gravity of 0.80 ± 0.05 kg/l and a coverage rate of just 50–80 g/m². It is available in 0.75 kg and 3 kg tins — sufficient for approximately 9–15 m² and 37–60 m² respectively.

The ARGYNET View:

Two features set it apart from every other primer in the catalogue, and both must be mentioned before it is sold.

Firstly: it is not applied with a roller or brush. You soak a cloth and clean the surface with it, changing the cloth frequently. You are not applying a coating — you are chemically activating the surface whilst simultaneously removing anything that prevents adhesion. That’s why the cloth gets dirty and needs changing: if you carry on using the same one, you’ll just be spreading the dirt you’ve just lifted.

Secondly: the ‘window’ is 15 minutes to 1 hour. It’s the shortest in the entire category — by comparison, SINMAST S2 WB allows up to 24 hours and ESHAPRIMER 21 to 4. In practice, this means you prime in sections and apply the top coat straight away. A contractor crew that primes an entire balcony and then prepares the polyurea mixture will have already missed the window for half the area.

Overview

Key Features

Function

- Chemically activates ceramic and glass surfaces

- Provides excellent adhesion and long-term durability for the subsequent coating

- Transparent — does not alter the appearance of the substrate

Application

- Single-component, ready-to-use

- Applied with a saturated cloth, without tools

- Coverage 50–80 g/m²

- Substrate and ambient temperature +5°C to +35°C

⚠️ Four requirements — all mandatory:

- The substrate must be completely dry, free from loose material, dust, grease, dirt or old paint

- Surfaces with trapped moisture — typically moisture beneath tiles — must be completely dry before application

- Maximum surface moisture content <5 per cent, relative ambient humidity <70 per cent

- Take care with the dew point — high humidity affects the finish
