SINTOCRETE Basic | Fibre-reinforced Repair Mortar | R3
Repair and structural strengtheningDescription
Sintocrete Basic is a constant-volume, single-component, fibre-reinforced, thixotropic repair mortar with a standard setting time, suitable for structural repairs and the restoration of concrete elements. It is a ready-to-use mixture of cement, polymers and quartz aggregates, reinforced with synthetic fibres, which, when mixed with water, produces a high-strength, dense-pored mortar with high adhesion to steel and concrete. Sintocrete Basic can be applied with a trowel or spatula, as well as with the standard tools used by installers for applying concrete façade restoration mortars, as well as by spraying using a suitable mortar spraying machine. The product provides a result with volume stability, both whilst still fresh and after curing. The applied layers of the product, once set, are characterised by very good adhesion, durability and excellent mechanical strength. The substrate must be thoroughly wetted with water prior to application, and the surface of the repair area must be kept damp for at least 6 to 24 hours, or even longer, after application and during the curing phase of the layer, particularly when the environment is hot and dry.
Overview
Key Features
• The product’s characteristic thixotropy gives the mixture exceptional adhesion and workability, combined with very good coverage of the material’s texture on vertical surfaces, beneath beams, corbels and on ceiling sections (in the lower zone), in applications above head height.
• A repair product, applicable using all standard application methods, either manually (trowel, spatula and plastering trowel) or mechanically (using a suitable spraying machine), as is common practice today.
• Provided the mixing ratios are strictly adhered to, no segregation—that is, separation of the material—occurs.
• Strong bond strength on porous substrates and structural steel elements (steel reinforcement)/ Class R3 mortar, classified in accordance with EN 1504-3. It is characterised by high adhesion to steel, excellent adhesion to concrete, as well as guaranteed adhesion to masonry elements (brickwork) etc.
• Due to its polymer-based composition and reinforcement with special additives and synthetic fibres, it results in reduced water permeability, i.e. a dense-pored surface, once the material has cured and hardened, without any shrinkage.
• Excellent resistance to ageing and to repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
• It is also resistant to chemical attack from common chemicals as well as to abrasion.
