SINTOCRETE | Fibre-reinforced Repair Mortar | R4
Repair and structural strengtheningDescription
Sintocrete is a single-component, non-shrink, thixotropic repair mortar with a standard setting time, suitable for structural repairs and the restoration of concrete elements. It is a ready-to-use, mixture of cement, polymers and quartz aggregates, reinforced with synthetic polyacrylic-based fibres, which, when mixed with water, produces a high-strength, waterproof mortar with excellent adhesion to steel and concrete. Sintocrete can be applied using spray equipment, and the mixture is also fully workable with a trowel or spatula, as well as with the standard tools used for applying concrete façade restoration mortars. The product is shrinkage-compensating both whilst still fresh and once hardened. Once set, the applied layers of the product are characterised by very good adhesion and durability, watertightness and excellent mechanical strength. The substrate must be thoroughly wetted with water prior to application, and the surface of the repair area must be kept damp for at least 24 to 48 hours, after application and during the curing phase of the layer, particularly in hot and dry conditions.
Overview
Key Features
• The characteristic thixotropy of Sintocrete gives the mixture excellent adhesion, workability with very good coverage when applying the material to vertical surfaces, beneath beams, cantilevers and on sections of ceilings (in the lower zone), above head height.
• A high-strength repair product, applicable using all standard application methods, manually (trowel, spatula and trowel-like tool) or mechanically (using a suitable spraying machine), as is currently the case.
• Provided the mixing ratios are observed, no segregation or separation of the material occurs.
• Strong adhesion to porous substrates as well as to structural steel elements (steel reinforcement)/ Class R4 mortar in accordance with EN 1504-3.
• Highly resistant to chemical attack, even when exposed to sulphates; it exhibits excellent waterproofing properties as it is impervious to water penetration, even under pressure.
• No shrinkage occurs, thanks to the product’s reinforced composition, which includes special additives and synthetic fibres.
