TERMOPOR EPS-80 | White
Expanded polystyrene (EPS)Description
FIBRANeps TERMOPOR 80 is white EPS: a lightweight thermal insulation material consisting of 98 per cent trapped air. It is manufactured in accordance with the European standard EN 13163, bears the CE mark and has a Declaration of Performance (DoP). It combines a declared thermal conductivity λD of 0.036 W/(m·K) with a compressive strength CS(10) of 80 kPa, making it a cost-effective and reliable thermal insulation core for a wide range of building applications.
The ARGYNET View: EPS 80 is the ‘workhorse’ of thermal insulation — offering an excellent thermal performance-to-cost ratio, it is waterproof, non-hygroscopic and 100 per cent recyclable. It is, however, an organic material classified as Euroclass E for reaction to fire. The correct engineering choice is not determined solely by the l value, but by the material’s position within the system: EPS 80 is suitable wherever the fire compartment allows (ETICS with a suitable render, and covered roofs and floors). Where fire safety regulations require non-combustible insulation (A1), the choice falls on stone wool; for a lower λ value at the same thickness, the graphite-based GRAFIT range is recommended.
