External thermal insulation

External thermal insulation, or external wall insulation, involves applying thermal insulation materials to the external surface of a building’s walls to create a ‘thermal envelope’. The process involves installing insulation boards (such as EPS or stone wool), applying glass fibre mesh, reinforced adhesive and a final layer of render. The main benefits include a significant reduction in heating and cooling costs, an increase in the property’s market value and improved thermal comfort, whilst also helping to protect the environment.
