Subfloor preparation and flooring adhesives

Description

CERESIT CN 76 is the ‘heavy-duty’ levelling compound in the range: where the DA stops at 10 mm, the CN 76 continues up to 50 mm. In layers of 4–20 mm, it is applied as a fluid and de-aerated using a spiked roller. For thicknesses of 10–20 mm, 0–2 mm sand is added, and for 20–50 mm, 2–8 mm sand is added in a 2:1 ratio, so as to fill deep cavities without the need for a separate cement mortar. With a compressive strength of C35, flexural strength of F7 and abrasion resistance of A12, it is suitable for tiles, rubber flooring and wooden flooring, but also serves as a final traffic surface in warehouses, basements, lofts, industrial premises and garages. It is walkable in approximately 3 hours, ready for traffic in 48 hours and ready for tiling in approximately 72 hours.

At ARGYNET, we recommend CN 76 when the substrate has significant level differences: in renovation projects where existing flooring has been removed, on old slabs with hollows, on sloping floors that need to be levelled, and in areas subject to heavy wear and tear. For simple levelling beneath vinyl, LVT or linoleum, it is applied after a coat of CERESIT R 766 primer. For industrial use, in garages or over tiles, the minimum thickness is 6 mm, with an epoxy primer (as per TDS CK 740; in our range, CERESIT R 755 with sand, subject to confirmation by Ceresit). For parquet flooring, the CN 76 base is sealed with CERESIT R 755.
