Subfloor preparation and flooring adhesives

Description

CERESIT R 755 is the ‘safety’ primer for the Ceresit flooring system: it is used where a simple acrylic primer is not sufficient. Applied in two cross-coated layers, with the second applied no later than 48 hours after the first, it seals residual or capillary moisture in cement screeds up to 6 per cent CM and in concrete up to 7 per cent by weight. Applied in a single coat, it seals old substrates and bituminous surfaces to prevent plasticisers from migrating into wood adhesive. It also protects sensitive substrates, such as plasterboard, wood, magnesia-based mortars and stable adhesive residues, and stabilises substrates that are prone to sanding. When mixed with dried quartz sand, it also forms an epoxy repair mortar.

At ARGYNET, R 755 is always used when the CM reading indicates moisture levels above the threshold for the floor to be laid: in new cement screeds with tight deadlines, on ground floors and in basements without a damp-proof course, and in refurbishments over tiles or mosaics. The procedure is as follows: once set, it is sanded with a black pad, followed by the application of Ceresit R 766 undiluted. If the levelling layer is to be over 10 mm thick, the fresh R 755 is sprinkled with 0.4–0.8 mm sand. It does not replace structural waterproofing in accordance with DIN 18195-5.

Overview

• 2-component, ratio 5 : 2, workability ~40 minutes, curing time ≥ 12 h

• Solvent-free: GISCODE RE 1, EMICODE EC 1 PLUS R

• Barrier against plasticisers in bituminous and old substrates, prior to the application of elastic wood adhesives

• Reinforcement of substrates that are sandy or highly absorbent

• Bonding to tiles, stone, asphalt and metal, for high-traffic floors

• With quartz sand: epoxy mortar and repair coating

• Suitable for underfloor heating, with a temperature resistance of up to +80 °C
