Subfloor preparation and flooring adhesives

Description

UZIN 398-D is a pressure-sensitive dispersion adhesive, known as ‘magnetic’: after 30–60 minutes of drying, it becomes transparent and holds the flooring in place through the pressure applied during installation, with immediate ‘grip’ and fibre reinforcement. It is suitable for all application methods: wet-on-wet, semi-wet, pressure-applied and double-layer, making it adaptable to the floor and the site conditions. It bonds homogeneous and heterogeneous PVC/CV vinyl flooring in rolls and tiles, as well as carpets with all common backing types (latex foam, fleece, needle-punched). It can be applied to absorbent, levelled substrates, as well as to smooth, non-absorbent surfaces such as metal. With a consumption of just 200–350 g/m², it is economical for large areas.

At ARGYNET, UZIN 398-D is the adhesive we recommend for professional Tarkett vinyl flooring, both homogeneous and heterogeneous, in hospitals, clinics, schools, offices and shops. The double-layering method provides better dimensional stability for floors exposed to sunlight or underfloor heating. For areas with forklift trucks or pallet trucks, extreme temperatures or constant damp, an epoxy adhesive is required. The substrate must be dry and levelled with CERESIT R 766 primer and DA or DH Maxi self-levelling compound. Any old adhesive residues must be removed or covered with a barrier and a self-levelling compound of at least 2 mm thickness.
