CERESIT UK 400 | General-purpose adhesive for resilient flooring and carpets

CERESIT UK 400 is the ‘one-bucket’ adhesive for standard soft flooring installations in residential properties: CV vinyl rolls, PVC with a fabric backing, tufted carpets, and linoleum or LVT in low-traffic areas. It is a solvent-free, creamy paste that is easily applied with a notched trowel (A2 for PVC, B1 or B2 for carpet and linoleum) and provides high initial tack with an open time of approximately 10 minutes and a working time of approximately 35 minutes. The floor can bear loads after approximately 24 hours, whilst joints should be glued or heat-sealed no earlier than 24 hours.

At ARGYNET, we recommend UK 400 for domestic vinyl rolls and carpets, and for residential refurbishments involving linoleum or LVT. For commercial premises with medium to high footfall (schools, hospitals, offices, shops), Ceresit specifies particular adhesives for each type of flooring, and the choice is made on a project-by-project basis in accordance with the flooring manufacturer’s instructions. In all cases, the adhesive is the final stage of the system: the substrate must first be absorbent, dry and levelled using CERESIT R 766 primer and a self-levelling compound such as DA, DH Maxi or CN 76.
