Knauf LN / LB Sheet Metal Screws

Knauf LN / LB Sheet Metal Screws

Dry construction fixings, screws and accessories

Description

Knauf’s metal-to-metal fixing screws: join metal profiles together (e.g. studs to tracks, double profiles, connectors). Low, flat head so that the plasterboard lies perfectly flat on top.

Unlike plasterboard screws (TN/TB), which fix the board to the framework, the LN and LB screws fix one profile to another. They feature a 4.2 mm flat head that does not protrude, so that the plasterboard does not ‘wobble’ at the point of connection. The LN has a pointed tip (for thin sheet metal), whilst the LB is a self-tapping screw (for heavier sheet metal).

Which screw for which job:

Plasterboard → stud frame: TN/TB plasterboard screws.

Profile → profile: LN/LB sheet metal screws (this page).

LN (pointed) → sheet metal up to 0.7 mm.

LB (self-tapping) → sheet metal 0.7–2.25 mm (no pre-drilling required).

Flat head: low-profile head for a flat substrate beneath the board.
