Knauf TN Plasterboard Screws | Sharp
Dry construction fixings, screws and accessoriesDescription
Knauf’s classic pointed screws for fixing plasterboard to a thin metal framework (up to 0.7 mm) — such as standard 0.6 mm CW/UW/CD profiles. A trumpet-shaped head that ‘sinks in’ without tearing the paper facing, for perfect skimming.
Knauf TN screws feature a sharp point, fine thread and a phosphated (black) finish. They screw in quickly into galvanised profiles up to 0.7 mm thick, and the trumpet head sinks slightly into the surface of the plasterboard, ready for skimming. They are available in a full range of lengths for 1 or more layers of plasterboard.
Which screw & which length:
TN (pointed) → sheet metal framework up to 0.7 mm (typically 0.6 mm profiles).
TB (self-tapping) → heavier framework 0.7–2.25 mm (e.g. UA reinforcement profiles).
Length selection: equal to the thickness of the sheets + ~10 mm into the metal. Guide: 1 layer 12.5 mm → 25 mm · 2 layers → 35–45 mm · 3 layers → 55 mm.
Special boards: Diamant/Ultraboard → XTN · perforated → SN · cement board → alkali-resistant · GUARDEX → GMR.
