Knauf TB Plasterboard Screws | Self-tapping
Dry construction fixings, screws and accessoriesDescription
Knauf’s self-tapping screws for fixing plasterboard to heavier metal studs (0.7–2.25 mm) — where the pointed TN screw does not ‘grip’. The drill point creates the hole by itself, without the need for pre-drilling.
Knauf TB screws feature a drill point that pierces sheet metal 0.7 to 2.25 mm thick without any preparation. Like the TN screws, they have a trumpet-shaped head that sinks smoothly into the plasterboard for a clean finish. Ideal for reinforced profiles, double/box-section studs and heavier framing.
TN or TB?
TN (pointed) → thin studs up to 0.7 mm (typical 0.6 mm profiles).
TB (self-tapping, this one) → heavier frames 0.7–2.25 mm: UA reinforcement profiles, double/box-section studs, multiple metal layers.
Length selection: plate thickness + ~10 mm within the metal (1 layer of 12.5 mm → 25 mm, and so on).
