Tarkett underlays for timber and laminate flooring | Tarkofoam II & Tarkoflex II

A floating timber floor or laminate flooring is not glued to the subfloor. It ‘rests’ on an underlay that performs three functions: it absorbs impact noise, evens out minor irregularities and protects the timber from moisture in the subfloor. Tarkofoam II is a 2 mm thick fine-cell polyethylene foam with ΔLw ≥ 17 dB and compressive strength > 22 kPa, for dry subfloors such as chipboard or existing wooden flooring. Tarkoflex II consists of the same foam with an integrated 100 μm film (SD > 75 m), so it also acts as a vapour barrier. It is approved for concrete with residual moisture up to 90 % RH, for tiles and for underfloor heating. Both products have an A+ emission rating and a 50-year service life in accordance with EN 16354.

At ARGYNET, the choice is simple. On a cementitious substrate, tiles or underfloor heating, Tarkoflex II is always used. On dry timber or chipboard, Tarkofoam II is sufficient. If Tarkofoam II is installed on a cementitious subfloor, it must be preceded by a polyethylene film with an overlap of at least 200 mm. These underlays are suitable for all pre-finished parquet (Shade, Grace, Pure, Heritage, Noble, Prestige) and laminate flooring (Woodstock, Easy Line) for floating installation. After installation, the protective paper keeps the floor clean until the work is completed.
