Flooring accessories

Description

Vinyl rolls in commercial premises are not simply ‘sealed’ with adhesive: their joints are heat-sealed with a cord made of the same material, so that the floor forms a continuous, watertight surface. This prevents water from seeping through the joints into the adhesive, stops dirt and germs from accumulating at the joints, and ensures the edges do not come apart due to trolleys or wet cleaning. Tarkett’s edging strips are 4 mm in diameter and are available in plain colours, as well as in multicoloured versions for homogeneous grain-effect flooring, making the joint virtually invisible. Each flooring design has its own edging code.

At ARGYNET, the edging strip is a mandatory component of every vinyl flooring installation in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, schools, kitchens and areas subject to wet cleaning. It also forms the basis of the hygienic raised edge system with a curved profile and skirting cap. Along with the flooring quote, we provide the correct cord code for your chosen design and the quantities in 50-metre reels. We estimate approximately one running metre of cord per running metre of joint, plus the raised sections and corners. Welding takes place 24 hours after installation, using hot air at 350–400 °C.
