Knauf Insulation’s Heraklith® Tektalan® A2-SmartTec is the evolution of the historic Tektalan range, optimised to meet all the requirements of modern structural ceilings (structural soffits): insulation, acoustic performance, fire safety and aesthetics. The visible layer of cement-bonded wood fibre (EN 13168) provides sound absorption and the finished appearance; whilst the high-density stone wool core (EN 13162) provides thermal and fire protection performance.

In car park ceilings and pilotis, the insulation is visible — so it must be durable, fire-rated and attractive all at once. Tektalan A2-SmartTec is installed directly onto the roof using concrete screws, without a metal framework or suspended ceiling, reducing labour time and costs by up to 30 per cent. Class A2-s1,d0 non-combustible with fire resistance up to REI 180 in a complete system, sound absorption up to a_w 1.00 (Class A) and a decorative finish that can be painted in any RAL colour — ideal for residential lobbies, hotel lobbies and exhibition spaces.
