CERESIT CT 76 SOLAR PROTECT

Ceresit CT 76 is a silicone-elastomeric decorative render specifically designed for façades with bright or dark colours, where solar radiation causes the greatest stress. The innovative UV Protect technology is based on photostabilisers — UV absorbers and free-radical ‘scavengers’ — which prevent the photochemical breakdown of the paint’s polymer bonds, offering ‘self-healing’ of surface micro-cracks and long-term colour stability.

ARGYNET LAB: The problem with dark colours on façades is well known: solar radiation heats the dark surface intensely, causing thermal expansion which creates micro-cracks, whilst ultraviolet radiation gradually breaks down the paint’s polymer bonds, leading to fading. CT 76 tackles both issues: its elastomeric composition absorbs thermal movement, whilst UV Protect technology significantly delays fading. Use is recommended with a light reflectance value (HBW) of ≥15; for even darker shades (HBW <15), technical consultation with the Ceresit technical department is required to select a suitable insulation system. At ARGYNET, we particularly recommend it for island and coastal façades with high levels of sunlight — particularly relevant for projects such as dark-coloured external wall insulation in coastal environments.
