ETICS finish renders

Description

Ceresit CT 16 is a ready-to-use synthetic resin-based primer with quartz aggregates, applied between the reinforced base coat (base coat) and the decorative render in ETICS systems. It significantly reduces the surface’s absorbency, enhances adhesion and mechanically ‘anchors’ the render thanks to its rough texture, reinforcing the entire external wall insulation composite system.

ARGYNET LAB: Many regard the primer as ‘mere preparation’ — in reality, it is the point where ETICS systems often fail: uneven absorption in the reinforced layer causes staining, uneven drying and reduced adhesion to the final render. CT 16 solves precisely this problem through two mechanisms: (1) it reduces and homogenises the surface’s absorbency, (2) its quartz aggregates create a rough texture that increases the mechanical adhesion of the render. It is a standard product in the Ceretherm range — it can be used regardless of which bonding/reinforcement mortar was applied previously (CT 82, CT 87, CT 100, CT 190, Thermo Universal).

At ARGYNET, we always recommend it as an essential step prior to applying any ETICS render.
