Extruded polystyrene (XPS)

Description

A rigid, waterproof XPS board with a smooth surface and a dense, closed-cell microcellular structure. It combines exceptionally high mechanical strength, complete water resistance and balanced resistance to water vapour diffusion — ideal where the insulation bears loads or is used in a damp environment.

MAESTRO is not simply ‘an XPS board’.

With a thermal conductivity coefficient λD of 0.033 W/(m·K) and a compressive strength of 200–250 kPa, it is the preferred choice for the core of cavity walls. At ARGYNET, we recommend the ‘L’ edge profile (rebate) in single layers, so as to eliminate thermal bridges at the joints — a detail that determines the actual performance of the shell, not just the stated performance.
