KNAUF KURT | Paper Tape for Reinforcing Plasterboard Joints

Joint treatment materials

Description

High-strength joint tape, 50 mm wide, with a central foldable groove that makes it ideal for internal corners as well. It ensures maximum joint strength and a clean, bubble-free finish.

Knauf Kurt is a joint tape made from dimensionally stable, highly tear-resistant paper. It features a central foldable groove for easy shaping around corners, whilst the fine fibres on its surface ‘grip’ the trowel when filled with the jointing compound, ensuring a strong bond and maximum strength. It is applied in a layer of plaster, without bubbles.

Kurt paper or glass fibre mesh?

- Kurt paper (this one) → high strength, ideal for internal corners (folded groove), moisture control. It is applied to a layer of filler (not self-adhesive).

- Mesh glass fibre tape → self-adhesive, quick; for rapid applications and repairs.

Professional note: Paper tape is the go-to choice for corners and for maximum crack resistance; it is traditionally used in combination with Fugenfüller-type plaster.
