UA Knauf 2mm Reinforcement Profile — Heavy-Duty Studs

Metal profiles for dry construction

Description

The reinforced UA profiles (2 mm web thickness, compared with 0.6 mm for standard CW profiles) are the ‘strong’ elements of the framework: for heavy-duty door frames, openings, tall/loaded walls and Room-in-Room (Cubo) systems.

Metal-reinforced UA profiles are used as studs in walls, as load-bearing elements or perimeter guides in Room-in-Room systems, as load-bearing elements in free-hanging suspended ceilings, and primarily for fixing heavy doors into wall openings. The increased thickness of 2 mm provides a level of rigidity not offered by standard 0.6 mm profiles.

Correct use & selection:

When to use UA: door frames (particularly heavy ones), wall openings, very tall or load-bearing walls, Room-in-Room.

UA height = wall width: UA 50 in a CW/UW 50 wall; UA 75 in a 75 wall; UA 100 in a 100 wall (and so on: 125/150).

Screwing: 2 mm steel requires TB self-tapping screws — not sharp TN screws.

Fixing: using the UA stud fixing set to the floor and ceiling.
